6. Air flow measurement (flow alarm)

During measurement and calibration, air flow should be approximately 1 liter per minute. This is indicated by the position of the ball in the flow meter, which is located at the front of the measurement cabinet or CO2 scrubber. The flow sensor is located at the bottom of the flow meter. If, during a calibration or measurement, the flow sensor detects that the air flow is too low for an accurate measurement, an alarm is triggered. It will then also light up.
A flow alarm can have several causes, such as a blocked hose or false air intake. Check the calibration gas cylinder during calibration and adjust the flow if necessary at the bottom of the reducer. Make sure the moisture separator drain valve is closed and check the (micro) filters in the cabinet for contamination. Also check that the metering pump in the control box is functioning properly and getting the correct voltage .
If a flow alarm occurs, it may be useful to unscrew the measurement hose on the side of the cabinet at the affected cell. This way it can be checked whether the problem is in the measurement hose or in the measurement system. In the case of the measurement hose, there may be a hose kinked or a filter clogged in the cell.
