Exciting news about a new Kiwi CA Storage project in Shaanxi, China! 🥝
For the second consecutive year, a customer in Shaanxi, China, has been storing kiwifruit in a CA facility equipped with VA equipment and controls.
Green kiwifruit ‘Xuxiang’ has been stored from early October last year until now. The operator and end customer are very satisfied with the excellent results achieved!
The Kiwis retained good firmness and ripened normally after storage with a high sugar content (12%). Recently the customer started selling kiwis nowadays simply because there are in high demand. They expect their kiwis will remain in good condition until June this year.
So far, only few postharvest diseases have been observed, and only less than 1% of the fruit has been lost due to some improper handling during the early stages of storage.
Compared to other growers who only store kiwis in ordinary regular cold storage, our customers’ products showed excellent quality and are sold for a much significant higher price!
